POSITION REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges and precision instruments as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, jacks and hoists.
Raise trucks and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
Read and understand operating manuals, schematic and technical drawings.
Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment to diagnose faults or malfunctions and determine requires repairs.
Use diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment, calibration devices, micrometers and gauges.
Inspect equipment parts for damage or excessive wear.
Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment.
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance; for example changing oil, checking batteries… etc., on equipment and vehicles.
Inspect, overhaul and test equipment systems such as brakes, steering, wheel bearings, etc. to ensure proper operating condition.
Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices.
Learn and follow safety regulations.
