Field Service Technician

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges and precision instruments as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, jacks and hoists.

  • Raise trucks and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.

  • Read and understand operating manuals, schematic and technical drawings.

  • Inspect, test and listen to defective equipment to diagnose faults or malfunctions and determine requires repairs.

  • Use diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment, calibration devices, micrometers and gauges.

  • Inspect equipment parts for damage or excessive wear.

  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.

  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.

  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment.

  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance; for example changing oil, checking batteries… etc., on equipment and vehicles.

  • Inspect, overhaul and test equipment systems such as brakes, steering, wheel bearings, etc. to ensure proper operating condition.

  • Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

  • Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices.

  • Learn and follow safety regulations.
