Amb Respiratory Therapist II Full Time

Full time days Monday through Friday; no call!

This is a position implementing and supervising pulmonary rehabilitative exercise and education programs prescribed by referring physicians.

  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served
  • Supervises pulmonary rehabilitative exercise and education prescribed by referring physicians working in accordance with established UVMMC/AACPR policies
  • Completes the necessary paperwork to help ensure reimbursement for outpatient services
  • Responsible for completed patient chart information at the end of each working day
  • Responds to all emergency situations arising in the Pulmonary Rehab department
  • Stays current in areas of chronic diseases, prevention and PULMONARY rehabilitation
  • Regulates operational supplies for outpatient services
  • Monitors and reports Patient Outcomes
  • Works with PR team (physical therapists, Medical Director) to ensure program meets all best practice guidelines, and participates in the biannual national certification process
  • Maintains or improves patient safety and cleanliness in the Pulmonary Rehab department
  • Participates or initiates a process improvement for the department
  • Will provide some clinical support to the outpatient pulmonary clinic as time allows and needs arise.

Position could lead to an RT III role when appropriate certifications and experience are met.

 

Education:

Associate's Degree required.  Bachelor's Degree preferred. Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy Program Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Vermont Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC Current BLS, ACLS preferred.

Experience:

3-5 years experience ideally in both inpatient and outpatient settings, in relevant clinical area and independent in all areas of the Ambulatory RT I accountabilities. Supervisory experience a plus.
