Director, PCIM and Family Medicine

Position Summary:

The goal of the University of Vermont Medical Group (UVM MG) within the organization is to achieve integrated clinical delivery for our patients and referring providers within the context of an academic practice environment.  In order to accomplish this goal, UVM MG must operate as a multi-specialty group to the fullest extent possible.  The Director is responsible for providing leadership, oversight and coordination of business and clinical activity within the assigned Health Care Service(s) through policies and procedures, orientation, on-going training, performance management and staff empowerment that supports the achievement of the optimal patient encounter. The Director will work with Assistant Director, Business, Assistant Director, Clinical, the UVM MG Leadership Team and the Health Care Service Physician Leaders to develop and manage efficient and effective patient flow systems, achieve financial and operational targets, and coordinate services across the clinical units. The Director is responsible for HCS growth within and outside of the Network.  The Director may be responsible for duties assigned to Assistant Director in the event of a vacancy.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health or related field required.  The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration or a related area.

Experience:

Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a health care management setting, preferably in an academic physician practice setting.
