Operations Supervisor

Major Responsibilities
Supervises a team of Operators. Schedules Operator work assignments, provides support, operator development and responds to Operator needs. Investigates accidents or incidents and system problems. Coordinates trimester bidding processes and daily dispatching activities. Develops partnerships with employees, union leadership and other departments to create positive change and help establish an enjoyable and productive work environment. Builds partnerships with businesses, community organizations and agencies to assist in identifying, coordinating and addressing transportation needs. Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/TRAINING:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or two years college education.

(Equivalency: may substitute two years of business-related work experience for one year of required college education. For example, if the applicant has no college education, s/he may substitute four years of business-related work experience for the two years of college education.)

EXPERIENCE: Four years of leadership experience. (Leadership experience may include supervision, operating instructor, union, community service, or other relevant experience.) Good previous job performance. (In evaluating previous job performance, the following will be considered: missouts, non-FMLA protected unscheduled absences, and formal disciplinary actions. We check the last two years.) Two years of work experience in the Transit industry preferred.

Special Services Operations Supervisors: Must be able to pass Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) background screening. This screening includes but may not be limited to: fingerprint-based checks of national crime information databases, and/or state child abuse and elder abuse registries for offenses that may impact the ability of the applicant to have unsupervised contact with vulnerable populations.

Knowledge - Windows Operating System. - Microsoft Office software proficiency at the beginning level in all of the following: 2010 Word, Excel, and 2007 Outlook.

Skills
Interpersonal skills (This is the most important skill for success in this job.) - Written and verbal communication. - Quantitative ability.

Abilities - Prioritizing, Decision making, Sensitivity and Diplomacy, Function effectively under stress, and Showing up to work when scheduled.

Must be able to acquire and maintain CDL with Passenger Endorsement and DOT card
Pay Rate: $51,941.76 annually
