Position Summary:

The Surgical Physician Assistant provides comprehensive care to surgical patients in the inpatient and ambulatory office sites. This includes performing histories and physicals, first and second assistant role in the operating room, regular postoperative rounds and follow up care, wound care, and discharge planning.  Practices medicine as part of the physician directed team as defined by the agreed upon scope of practice for individual physician assistant.

Education:

Must be a graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program and must have certification as a Physicians Assistant in the state of Vermont.

Experience:

Must have at least 2 years of Physician Assistant experience, preferably in a surgical practice.  An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities may be acquired will be considered.
