Hillside Children’s Center has openings for Level III Skillbuilders for the Buffalo, NY area!  These are Full Time positions, 40 hours - Monday-Friday Evenings.   Incumbent may need to work occasional weekends or split shifts as required.

The Skill Builder III participates within a designated service team to develop treatment and behavior management plans and executes such plans aimed at assisting youth to achieve their personal goals and objectives.  This position has the responsibility of assuring the safety of the youth and applying appropriate emergency and crisis intervention techniques as needed. The incumbent will work primarily with male and female adolescents and teenagers who are diagnosed as Serious Emotionally Disturbed, Medically fragile, or developmentally disabled. This individual must demonstrate skills that promote a safe physical and emotional environment for children and families within the context of their living environment. The Skill Builder III interacts with clients and families in a variety of settings including biological, pre-adoptive, and foster homes, and neighborhood, community and group care settings. The Wavier Service provider will provide waiver services to youth and family such as skill building, Family Caregiver Supports, and Planned Respite. The majority of the work schedule will be evenings; however, incumbent may need to work occasional weekends or split shifts as required by service’s needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related degree required and 2 years of relevant experience (3-5 preferred).  Over time, this position performs all job requirements with independence; has demonstrated an ability to organize and deliver more complex training; depended upon for resolution of more complex problems/issues; may perform supervisory functions, mentoring and training activities as assigned. The Skill Builder III serves as a role model for Skill Builders. Requires extensive driving between counties in Western New York.

Candidates must have a valid New York State Driver's License and must meet agency driving and insurance standards.
