Duties:

Duties of the position may include but are not limited to:

·         Perform all aspects of surgical and office based orthopedics.

·         Perform joint replacement/revisions and have expertise in upper extremity and shoulder procedures.

·         Responsible for clinic and OR based patient care from consult through pre-operative evaluation.

·         Responsible for postoperative follow-up.

·         Serve as a mentor and teacher for orthopedic residents in an accredited and affiliated program.

·         Supervise mid-level providers.

Work Schedule: Full-Time; Monday-Friday; 07:30 a.m. ? 04:00 p.m.

    • This job vacancy announcement will be used to fill one (1) full-time Physician (General Orthopedics) VM-0602 vacancy in Surgical Service at the Malcom Randall VA Medical in Gainesville, FL (Primary) and at the Lake City, FL VA Medical Center (Secondary).

      Work Schedule: Full-Time; Monday-Friday; 07:30 a.m. ? 04:00 p.m.
  • Basic Requirements:
    • Citizenship of the United States.  Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs policy.
    • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.  The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
    • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
    • Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
    • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
