Duties:

This position is in Patient Care Service at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, and the VA Medical Center in Lake City, Florida.  On a regular and recurring basis, the following major assignments are performed:

            ·         Maintains a clean, safe environment

            ·         Provides post mortem care

            ·       ?? Applies supportive and protective devises

            ·         Performs treatments within scope of practice

            ·         Obtains, records, and reports vital signs and I & O's

            ·         Collects patient specimens within scope of practice

            ·         Responds to emergent situations and notifies the appropriate personnel

            ·         Travels with the patient to appointments

            ·         Transport patients to other areas of the hospital when needed

            ·         Transport patients from various community agencies and homes for outpatient appointments

            ·         Performs all other duties as assigned

Work Schedule: 8 and 12 hour tour day, evening and nights, rotation of weekends, tour rotation to cover the needs of the service.

    Time-in-grade:  Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

    Specialized Experience:Applicants must have One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-05) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Note: There is no Education substitution for this level.
