Job Responsibilities
In this dynamic sales management role, you will be responsible for providing the direction, coordination, and evaluation of operations for one of our company owned stores. You will manage sales and profits within the store and implement strategies designed to increase market share.
Additional responsibilities of this role include:
· Achieving sales and profit plan by controlling expenses, working capital, inventory, shrinkage and growing net contribution
· Focusing on customer service by ensuring that high service standards are maintained and customer issues are quickly and efficiently resolved
· Achieving and maintaining a high level of associate engagement through effective leadership
· Maintaining an understanding of local market, operations based selling and customer base
· Recruiting, training, directing, motivating, disciplining and resolving associate issues
· Ensuring that the appearance of the store's exterior and interior, including merchandizing displays, are maintained to required standards
· Executing initiatives, and implementing plans designed to grow volume and market share by understand the differences between their customers
· Resolving customer complaints and/or product failures by viewing each customer as an individual and involving necessary support to achieve superior customer service
· Supporting team and meeting with key customers to build and maintain relationships fostered through a clear understanding of customer base and specific communication
· Developing relationships within Corporate departments for continuous process and inventory improvement
Successful candidates of this Store Manager role have high energy, are able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to learn quickly. Someone with a customer-centric attitude, and enjoys interacting with all types of personalities would be a good fit for this role.
Additional requirements of the entry level role include:
· High School Diploma or GED, some college credit, preferred
· 3 to 5 years of retail management / sales experience
· Demonstrated sales leadership and customer service skills
· Working knowledge of store operations
· Broad knowledge of the application and use of paint and sundries
· Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) preferred
· Ability to work flexible hours with varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Valid Driver’s license
· Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. infrequently and 40 – 60 pounds routinely
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and internet applications

Within our Architectural Coatings business, we produce paints, stains, and specialty coatings under the PPG Pittsburgh® Paints, PPG Olympic® Paints and Stains, and PPG Porter® Paints brands, and service the North American coatings industry across three channels.
PPG has recently completed the acquisition of the AkzoNobel North American Architectural Coatings business. This acquisition provides our newly combined Trade organization a tremendous platform for profitable growth.
