Assists with the management of clinical, human and other resources within the department. Functions as a role model. Provides clinical expertise in evaluating emergency patient assessment, care, discharge and transfer. Provides guidance related to standards of care/practice, policies and procedures, and practice guidelines. Reinforces regulatory standards with staff, physicians and health care providers. Provides direct patient care as needed. Supports/reinforces developed goals and objectives to sustain the department in the changing health care environment. Maintains competence in clinical nursing practice and obtains relevant education.
Five years clinical experience in Nursing. Prior management experience preferred. Basic knowledge of performance improvement and regulations specific to the in patient hospital seting. Possesses education skills, knowledge of and ability to use computers, solid human relations skills. BLS; ACLS; PALS; TNCC Certification Required.
