Drive sales growth and GP3 (purchase allowances selling margin, less deviations) performance through the development of custom strategies for assigned region, in alignment with overall corporate category strategy. Lead the implementation of those strategies across the divisions within assigned region, serving as subject matter expert on category management, including product assortment, region category strategy, Division Delivered Price (DDP), pricing and vendor management.
Create and execute category management and division GTM strategies within assigned region. Measure and provide detailed analysis on performance of category initiatives versus defined goals within assigned region. Maintain a current knowledge and understanding of marketplace trends and apply to category activities.
Work with divisions on established targets regarding customer and EB penetration and conversion opportunities.
Serve as category management subject matter expert to assigned region and divisions, advising on opportunities, implementation and overall category management strategy.
Maintain positive, proactive relations with vendors and lead region negotiation efforts with medium-small spot and forward-buys, based on aggregate region volume requirements. Ensure stakeholders are informed of scope, terms and conditions of in-place or pending negotiations.
Conduct detailed product assortment reviews, identifying core SKU's for each division and ensuring complementary assortment across assigned divisions is in alignment for success. Relay TM feedback to corporate on assortment and consider this information during the course of strategic planning.
Work closely with corporate to identify and prioritize pricing migration opportunities and develop category-level strategies for assigned region. Lead the implementation and execution of said strategies for assigned region.
Prioritize training assortment for assigned region, developing annual category training plan and materials. Facilitate training against this plan.

Education/Training: Four year college degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience required.
Related Experience: Minimum 3-5 years Category Management experience, including 2 years of vendor negotiations' experience preferred. Foodservice or food manufacturing experience highly desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must possess the ability to operate successfully in a matrix environment and work effectively across multiple groups and levels. Strong negotiation skills required. Successful demonstrated influence and persuasion skills to achieve defined organizational goals required.
The successful candidate will have solid quantitative and analytical skills, the ability to work in a team setting, driving team results and supporting change management within the organization, and a strong ability to provide fact-based recommendations across various levels of management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of motivation, the ability to prioritize and self-direct, strong business acumen and sound interpersonal skills. Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, as well as solid presentation skills, required. Prior experience developing and facilitating training required. Proficiency required in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Microsoft Outlook. Prior experience with Microsoft Access a plus.
