Finance Business Analyst

Being able to make sense of the ever increasing amount of data collected in the healthcare industry is a daunting task. The Data Analyst will help us make sense of that data by creating reports and analyzing queries to help identify trends in clinical and non-clinical environments. The Data Analyst will use database tools, languages and reporting features to query databases and perform statistical analysis from various business systems.

  • Duties
    • Perform ad-hoc and routine requests for complex data analysis of internal and external data.
    • Develop programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data.
    • Use and support database applications and analytical tools.
    • Evaluate data integrity and quality to ensure accuracy.
    • Research new data sources and analytical tools.
    • Contribute to new product development and improvement in current systems.
    • Maintain familiarity with events and issues pertaining to the healthcare industry.
    • Develop on-going awareness of programs aimed at improving the quality of healthcare through data analysis.
    • Work with other technology team members and vendors.
    • Work with physicians, nurses administrator and other healthcare team members.,
    • Provide the highest level of customer service.
Requirements
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail, analytical skills, math skills, communication skills required.
  • Experience and expertise with SQL languages required.
  • Experience and expertise using advanced Excel features and techniques required.
  • Experience and expertise in analysis and presentation of data required.
  • Experience working with a variety of systems and files, including complex files.
  • Experience analyzing file structures, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products.
  • Experience with database application development (e.g., Microsoft Access) desirable.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry, including billing and coding, preferred.
  • Familiarity with types and sources of health care information, including financial and clinical data files.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Comfortable working independently, with experience working in a team environment.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Physical ability to use computer hardware and software required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English required.
  • Experience
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant specialty.
    • Education in statistics, data analysis, and research methods.
    • 3-5 years experience in data analysis and decision support.
