GENERAL SUMMARY

Certified Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for assisting the pharmacist in provision of pharmaceutical services. Technicians are responsible for the following processes: preparation of unit dose, extemporaneous, and parenteral dosage forms and corresponding documentation; timely delivery of medications to patient care areas; timely removal and crediting of discontinued medications from patient care areas; preparing controlled substance requests and maintaining records according state and federal regulations; maintenance of floor-stock inventory and billing component; assurance of adequate inventory; participation in nursing station inspections; . Technicians maintain an orderly work environment.

• High School/GED
• 1 year of experience required

• MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language.
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior hospital or home health pharmacy experience.
  • Current registration with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board as a Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral) required in order to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to maintain appropriate documentation records
