Certified Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for assisting the pharmacist in provision of pharmaceutical services. Technicians are responsible for the following processes: preparation of unit dose, extemporaneous, and parenteral dosage forms and corresponding documentation; timely delivery of medications to patient care areas; timely removal and crediting of discontinued medications from patient care areas; preparing controlled substance requests and maintaining records according state and federal regulations; maintenance of floor-stock inventory and billing component; assurance of adequate inventory; participation in nursing station inspections; . Technicians maintain an orderly work environment.
Ability to read and communicate in the English language. High School graduate or equivalent required Prior hospital or home health pharmacy experience. Current registration with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral) required in order to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to maintain appropriate documentation records.
