Nursing Supervisor

The Nursing Supervisors represent patient care services and/or hospital administration in its absence, assuming essential department head functions as needed to ensure safe, competent, timely and efficient delivery of patient care by directing, delegating and providing patient care based on evidenced based practice, Joint Commission standards and/or CMS regulations. The Nursing Supervisor maintains knowledge of patient condition, acts as a clinical and managerial resource for all staff, ensures that staffing needs are met, and promotes development and teamwork of staff. He/she assists in the monitoring and maintaining of hospital standards of fire, safety, infection and environmental control, time and attendance and provides administrative support to all departments during the off-shift.  Graduation from Accredited RN Program. BSN or equivalent degree preferred. 

Minimum three years critical care or equivalent nursing experience required; one year supervisory experience preferred.  Registered Nurse currently licensed/eligible to be licensed by the State of Vermont.  BSN or equivalent degree preferred.  BLS Provider status.  ACLS Provider status.  PALS preferred.  Completion of BMH IVCS certification, IV certification or demonstrated proficiency, and PACU competency within orientation period.  Per diem Nursing Supervisors must comply with the above and work the equivalent of ten (10) or more eight (8) hour shifts per year.
