Supply Chain Logistics Manager

The Supply Chain Manager develops inventory forecasts, aligning with our mills production capabilities in our commitment to maintain a 99.5% fill rate with our customers. You will lead a team of inventory planners who focus on minimizing working capital thru all aspects of the wholesale dry grocery supply chain from mill to warehouse to customer delivery. This role sources, manages and negotiates with 3PL carriers and warehouses for lowest delivered costs combined with quality service. Responsibilities include projecting, reconciling and monitoring our commodity contracts and pricing agreements. You will be generating and analyzing production usage reports to help create our demand forecast and adjust our MRP settings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

  • Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reviewing performance, quality, financial and statistical data on our supply chain operations to assess procurement practices and drive cost savings/process improvements.
  • Maintains accuracy in various databases and files that track supply chain performance.
  • Monthly updates our demand forecast and mill CWT projections, maintaining the accuracy of our MRP.
  • Participates in reviews of our multiple public warehouses quality of service, cost and locations to best serve the needs of our supply chain.
  • Provides verbal and written input on performance of our mills and warehouses.
  • Works with our 3PL warehouses, to support lean inventories and negotiate best costing.
  • Ensures inventory team's accuracy is maintained in food traceability and all inventory transactions. Leads team, provides goals, timely and constructive feedback, and action plans for continual improvement. Delegate purchasing tasks as appropriate.
  • Sources, manages, generates and maintains relationships with our 3PL warehouses and freight carriers; negotiates lowest quality service costing, enforces our vendor policies and strengthens our external partnerships.
  • Support continual improvement thru identification and implementation of new forecasting & planning processes and tools in support of the division and company mission, long range strategy, and annual budget.
  • Support the resolution and communication of product quality problems affecting the supply chain; coordinate the disposition/resolution/claims processing with appropriate vendors.
  • Estimated travel requirements are up to 4 weeks annually.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years relevant work experience in supply chain management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft platforms: Outlook, Word with advanced Excel skills.
  • Analytical reporting experience using excel power pivot a plus
  • Supervisory experience
  • WMS experience a plus
  • MRP and ERP experience desired

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for a minimum of 8 hours daily
