Job Title: Pharmacy Controlled Substance Analyst

Department: Pharmacy Compliance

 

Position Purpose:

The Pharmacy Controlled Substance Analyst works under the direction of the Director, Pharmacy Compliance and assists in monitoring the controlled substances program including, but not limited to, data collection, analysis, reporting, managing wholesaler thresholds, and investigation into Loss Prevention issues.

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·Conduct comprehensive reviews of dispensing and purchase data to identify suspicious trends  and report to management

·Develop and manage key performance indices related to purchase thresholds for all dispensing locations

·Serve as primary coordinator for site evaluations and research

·Create and report data analytics and support to loss prevention and division management

·Provide data analytics to Pharmacy Professional Services Department as requested for regulatory agency inquiries

·Review and track loss reports from all pharmacy locations

·Facilitate DEA 106 Form filing and tracking for all pharmacy locations

·Provide on-site/store location visits to help DEA/Division Store facilitate outcomes of review

 

Qualifications:

·Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business/Finance) or equivalent experience

·Minimum two years analytics experience required

·Pharmacy experience preferred

·Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred

·Keen legal and business acumen

·Financial and/or information analysis experience

·Computer literacy in MS Office. Experience in SAS or SQL preferred

·Excellent analytical, problem solving skills, written and oral communication skills

·Excellent team and interpersonal skills

·High degree of initiative and results orientation

·High level of attention to detail and data accuracy

·Organization skills to manage multiple initiatives

·Ability to reflect on current processes and procedures to recommend and implement improvements

·Work autonomously, handle projects under deadlines pressures and set priorities effectively

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

·Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

·Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.

·Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.

·Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
