Primary Purpose(s) of Position: Within the guidelines of corporate policies and under the direction of the Blank Supervisor, coordinate, direct, and lead all functions and personnel related to warehousing/distribution. Through the use of personal skills and assignment of duties, assure timely fulfillment of tasks and responsibilities, achieving efficient and economical operations.
JOB DUTIES: 1) Coordinate the procedures involved with storage, receiving, picking, inspection. Direct and coordinate all activities related to preparing and shipping product to Marcus. 2) Monitor and maintain perpetual inventories, storage, inventory maintenance functions. Direct daily work schedules, anticipating need and requirements to minimize loss of work hours and production; assuring that quality and service are achieved, and initiate efforts aimed at affecting cost reductions, work improvements, and work aids. 3) Instruct, train, motivate, and assist employees to maintain optimum productivity. Monitor work for quality standards and appraise employee performance. Participate in the selection process to fill new and or/ vacant positions. 4) Coordinate departmental safety and housekeeping practices and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions. 5) Coordinate the maintenance of records and files and prepare periodic reports of status and activity. Provide information and consult with other departments and supervisors to facilitate operating procedures and/or resolve problems. 6) Keep employees informed of rules and regulations, production, and quality expectations. Provide input when performance disciplinary measures are necessary. Encourage employee communication and endorse an open door policy. 7) Maintain professionalism and stay abreast of new developments through professional organizations, publications, vendors, and corporate management training. Qualifications
Basic:
Minimum of three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education and experience.
Ability to become certified in the operation of all warehouse equipment.
Ability to lift, lower and/or carry product up to a maximum of 50 pounds by hand. Regularly operates warehouse equipment that requires manual dexterity requiring some coordinated movements.
Ability to use computer or hand-held scanner to enter information.
Ability to make independent decisions within well-defined guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to be a team player
Demonstrated ability to be reliable and dependable to complete work assignments.
Basic math skills
Ability to learn how to operate warehouse equipment (i.e. forklift, cherry picker, pallet jack, etc.)
Basic data entry skills
Strong attention to detail
Preferred:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker preferred.
