SPP Receiver/Inspector

Introduction:

While you may know Staples as the world’s leading office supply company, Staples Promotional Products – a division of Staples – is a national leader in the promotional products and apparel industry and manufacturer and supplier of customer identified caps, garments and advertising specialty items.

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for inspecting and receiving/putting away incoming product for the identified warehouse.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Receive and inspect outside supplied products (identified  wearable, ad specs, and mechanical products)
• Communicate with buyers on quality issues
• Attach correct labeling to outside of cartons/pallets
• Store product in warehouse and do transactions to adjust inventory on the system
  

Basic:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or Relevant Experience
• Must be able to lift, lower and/or carry product up to 40 pounds by hand

Preferred:

• Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker preferred
• Minimum of three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education and experience
• Ability to become certified in the operation of all warehouse equipment
• Regularly operates warehouse equipment that requires manual dexterity requiring some coordinated movements
• Ability to make independent decisions within well-defined guidelines
• Ability to use computer or hand-held scanner to enter information
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player
• Demonstrated ability to be reliable and dependable to complete work assignments
• Basic math skills
• Ability to learn how to operate warehouse equipment (i.e. forklift, cherry picker, pallet jack, etc.)
• Basic data entry skills
• Strong attention to detail
