Position Summary:

Associates in a DC Support role may perform activities related to scheduling inbound and/or outbound activities in the Distribution Center; ensure inventory accuracy within the processing areas, system and process quality as well as vendor compliance and/or outbound shipment to our stores. Some Support roles may be responsible for ensuring the DC has required functioning hardware to allow associates to work efficiently and meet production and customer goals. Individuals in these positions must work cooperatively with other Associates, vendors, carriers, and productively with little/some supervision, be detail-oriented, and have proven time management skills. These roles will build relationships with internal Suppliers/customers and internal functional groups at the DC to drive quality and accuracy within the DC and service stores. Following Home Depot safety policies and procedures is of great importance in these positions.

Specific Operations and Logistics Support positions may include: Outbound Coordinator, Transportation Coordinator, Inventory Control Associate, AP Auditor, DC Systems Coordinator and Customer Service Coordinator Logistics.


NATURE AND SCOPE -

  • Typically reports to a Supervisor or Manager in an assigned functional area.

Environment:

  • Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Travel:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must pass the Drug Test.
  • Must pass Background Check.
  • Must pass pre-employment test if applicable
  • EDUCATION REQUIRED -

    • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED

    YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 0 – 2 years experience

    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

    • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
    • Some Office positions may require the need for bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items
    • Requires the ability to move items weighing up to 75 pounds when necessary
    • Responding to public address system announcements
    • Requires listening for personal pages on general announcements
    • Walking and carrying merchandise
    • Identify, read, and interpret operating documents such as labels and reports

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule
    • Ability to work required shifts / hours to meet production/ customer goals
    • Experience with MS Office Suite
    • Ability to effectively communicate to leaders and business partners; in some support roles; ability to support Associates and effectively coach/train on effective hardware usage.
