Sr Specialist-Client Tech Administrator

Overall Purpose: Responsible for the day to day operations, incident management, technical support, administration, maintenance, implementation, and configuration for desktop, print, telephony/voice, wired/wireless/data/security network, point of sale, specialty computing devices and related hardware and software on company premises and in executive homes.
 
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Responsible for responding to and resolving technical problems, providing tier 2 and tier 3 support utilizing a variety of tools and techniques. Customer base includes Retail Stores, Executives, and Mobile/Handheld work environments. Includes 24X7 direct technical support for all technology and infrastructure delivered in a geographically dispersed environment including all 50 states. Involves consulting with clients, infrastructure support  Security, Application Development, Network Operations, Telephony Operations, Messaging, desktop/network/telephony/voice vendors, and software vendors. Designs, configures, and tests updates and modifications to desktop/network/telephony/voice, applications and operating systems supporting business customer initiatives. Plans, organizes and functions as SME Subject Matter Expert for equipment selection and on-site installations. Interfaces with technical engineering and maintenance to develop and support new processes and applications. Supports ATT sponsored events by providing technical solutions and the required IT infrastructure onsite in support of the event. Job Contribution: Developing technical professional with some experience. Completes moderately complex work within discipline/specialty area. Contributes to development of concepts/methods/techniques. Moderate team impact.

COMMUNICATION Exchanges complex technical information. Provides training/guidance to others in work area breaking down information in a systematic/logical manner. Cultivates good peer working relationships.
 
Education: Preferrred Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math or equivalent experience.
 
Experience: Typically requires 3-5 years experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role. Entry into this title may require TCP Governance Board Review. Supervisory: No.
 
Additional Responsibilities
  • This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
  • Direct technical support for all products delivered in a 7x24 hour environment
  • Monitor and respond to technical hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of testing tools and techniques for desktop, servers, LAN/WAN, voice or video networks
  • Perform capacity planning, system administration, system tuning, problem analysis and hardware/software upgrades
  • Develop administrative policies, documentation and procedures to ensure that company assets are properly maintained and operated
  • May install and configure workstations, servers, printers, and data, voice or video network components
  • Perform testing and establish system acceptance criteria on current and new hardware and software
  • Develop local administrative policies and procedures to ensure database and system integrity
  • Conduct meetings with the clients and other support groups to establish critical dates and LAN and client/server requirements
  • Determine training needs and develop system administration guidelines tailored to the work environment
  • Coordinate the delivery and staging of client/server hardware and software including Ethernet and/or Token Ring wiring for the workstation and file server platforms
  • Configure and build the client workstation, server hardware, software printers and network interfaces to meet client and vendor technical specifications
  • Complete documentation needed for inventory and installation planning
  • Build client profiles and system configurations for software distribution equipment
Required Qualifications -
  • Expert in networking skills
  • Expert in Data protection and data backup recovery
  • Expert in PC and handheld operating systems hardware and software (Windows and Apple)
  • Excellent  Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Basic understanding of Network/PC (hardware & software) network protocols, VoIP, virtualization, SMS, and data streaming
  • Basic understanding of PC and handheld network security optimization and monitoring tools/software (VPN, Remote Access…)
  • Basic understanding of Work / Project Management processes and tools
  • Basic understanding of Data protection and data backup recovery
 Desired Qualifications -
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications or other degrees in the same field
  • MCSE
  • 3-5 years of experience
