Position Summary:

Position Overview/Description: 
 
We are seeking an experienced Chassis Project Management Engineer to join our Ford Performance Team.  This individual will function as the Program Module Team leader for all North American chassis content.  This individual works directly with Design and Release Engineers to facilitate program milestones from conception through program launch. 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Function as the Program Module Team (PMT) leader for all North America chassis content
  • Report to Chassis application supervisors and work directly with Design & Release Engineers to facilitate healthy program milestones starting from concept inception through program launch
  • Interface with core engineering to ensure proper headcount and aligned content for each program
  • Manage the progression of CAD and failure mode disciplines within the chassis sections
  • Lead the classification and report out process for corporate and regulatory requirements
  • Lead the prototype BOM and build process for chassis on all programs
  • Manage the change control process for ongoing part changes
  • Launch lead for North American programs – drive issues resolution and part pedigree leading to healthy Job 1
  • Some travel will be required to local assembly plants and supplier locations

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications: 
 
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Chassis Design & Release Engineer in 2 or more of the following multiple sub systems: wheels and tire, shock absorbers; stabilizer bars, frame/subframe, or steering; this experience must include completing one Original Equipment product development system timing plan, Part Releasing Process; and issue identification/resolution
  • BS Engineering degree required

Preferred Qualifications: 
 
  • MSME degree
  • Chassis PMT experience over multiple vehicle programs
  • Understanding of OE product development timing plans, Part Releasing Process, Issue resolution, and knowledge of Performance Vehicles
  • Other vehicle development experience (Vehicle dynamics, Vehicle Integration, NVH)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – highly effective with Microsoft Office tools
  • Independent self-starter that forms robust teams from a diverse pool of engineers and program managers
  • Innovative mindset with high level of motivation to deliver high performance vehicle attributes
