Global Ford Performance (FP) Electrical Systems Engineer

Position Summary:

Responsibilities:
 

  1. Lead system level design for new / modified electrical features.
  2. Develop electrical architectures within existing vehicles to support new features, Functional feature portioning, Control strategy, HMI development, etc.
  3. Collect and manage electrical device transmittals (DT’s)
  4. Lead development and delivery of logical schematics to the EDS team so that wire harnesses can be developed.
  5. Work with component suppliers and Netcom to develop Network communication message list to support the new features and content.
  6. Manage EE System level attributes: Key Off Load and Charge Margin
  7. General vehicle level electrical troubleshooting.
  8. Interface with the core electrical functional teams (EESE and others, e.g.  Instrument Clusters, Switches, Audio, Powertrain, etc.)
  9. Deliver all components and systems with quality that meet the program function, cost, weight and timing requirements.
    • Responsible for Reliability Check List (RCL)  (Quality Documentation- Boundary Diagram, P-Diagram, DFMEA, etc.) for FP parts and content
  10. Support current product production and quality efforts as needed.
  11. Support Prototype Build PAT’s and M1/VP build events
    • Breadboard delivery, vehicle reworks/part upgrades
    • Support Part Shortage, AIMS,  and other build support meetings
  12. Support Production Launches for FP programs
    • Currently, 2 vehicle programs have local assembly plants in Southeast MI
  13. Support AIMS resolution, Drive Fleet Evaluations, and other Launch Activities
  14. Support Supplier visits as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  1. 3+ years of Electrical Systems Engineer –OR- vehicle level electrical systems design and development experience.
  2. BSEE or Engineering Degree
 
Desired Qualifications:
 
  1. 3+ years of Electrical Design and Release experience preferred.
  2. 2+ years of experience using CANalyzer, Diagnostic Engineering Tool(DET), and/or Intrepid tools
  3. 2+ years of experience with safety regulations / requirements
  4. 2+ years of WERS experience
  5. 2+ years of working with Ford GPDS system
  6. Masters Degree in Engineering, preferred
  7. 2+ years of Launch Experience Preferred
  8. 2+ years of experience in WERS, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  9. Positive attitude willing to work in an exciting, fast paced environment on exciting new Performance Products
