Position Summary:

Position Overview/Description: 

We are looking for a skilled design and release engineering practitioner to lead the design and delivery of electrical components for Ford Performance product.  The focus is on electrical systems and components. This person will also lead development of new and modified electrical systems and components for future Ford Performance products.
 
This team delivers these electrical systems and components for our Ford Performance vehicles such as the Ford GT, Focus ST/RS, Mustangs and Raptor trucks sold through Ford dealerships.


Responsibilities: 
 
 

  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical components for Ford Performance product.  Focus is on electrical systems and components.  Position may later involve other areas of the vehicle
  • Lead development of new and modified electrical systems and components for future Ford Performance product.  Later support of launch and prototype builds of this product for electrical content at local assembly plants
  • Lead the electrical development efforts and alternative comparisons for D&R
  • Interface with the core electrical function to maintain relationships and product understanding – sharing work methods, best practices, specifications, and guidelines
  • Deliver all components/systems with quality that meet program function, cost, weight, and timing requirements
  • Lead and manage the relevant electrical supply base to deliver this content
  • Support current product production testing and quality efforts
  • Some travel will be required to:
    -  Local assembly plants and build sites
    -  Vehicle Drives
 
 
Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications: 
 
  • BSEE degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in Electrical Systems and Design Experience / Electronic Component Design and Release Experience
  • Delivery of 1 completed Launch of product or component
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • MSEE preferred
  • Experience with VSEM / FSMS /CANalyzer / DET/ATI 
  • Other Electrical or vehicle development experience
  • Design and Release experience in multiple electrical areas
  • Understanding of GPDS, Releasing Process, STA, and the Performance Vehicle Process
  • Independent self-starter that can compare and contrast electrical options to meet vehicle performance
