Calibration Technician

Position Summary:

OVERVIEW
Instrument Technician is responsible for performing / providing calibration, installation, troubleshooting and documentation of instruments / equipment used in manufacturing & utility plants and GMP production facilities as required. 
 
All work to be completed to assure minimal impact to production while complying with Regulatory and Company regulations. All work must be completed in accordance with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, and JLL policies.
 
EXPECTATIONS

  • Perform calibrations of instruments on process and utility equipment, laboratory analytical equipment. Examples: Incubators, Freezers, Balances, Transmitters, Indicators, etc.
  • Assist the team with maintaining an up-to-date working spare parts inventory for the equipment/ systems the team is responsible for.
  • Ensure that calibration paperwork, instrument files, and work order documentation is completed with accurate information.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Maintain an up to date cGMP training record
  • Raise the bar of your performance by taking ownership of your continuous improvement
  • Maintain an on-going two-way performance dialogue with area Chief Engineer
  • Notify Chief Engineer of any training needs and advise them of any factors impacting your ability to perform
  • Assist other staff members in raising the bar on their performance
  • Perform tasks in accordance with planning and scheduling
  • Contribute in a positive way toward the goals for Jones Lang LaSalle
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma
  • Minimum of 4 years of Instrumentation/Calibration related work experience
  • Experience working in a cGMP environment, preferred
  • Experience working with established GMP procedures in the calibration and maintenance of utility, process and lab equipment, preferred
  • Experience working with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System - Maximo)
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Basic organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas through verbal and written form
  • Basic trouble-shooting, problem solving and training skills
  • Ability to work with computer based controls is required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical material including operating manuals and standard engineering drawings is required.
  • Ability to complete GMP documentation and follow applicable standard operating procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams
  • Ability to seek outside resources as needed
 
WORK REQUIREMENTS / CONDITIONS
  • Ability to work assigned shifts to provide adequate coverage, and support on-call coverage as assigned
  • An ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift 50 pounds
