Position Purpose:


This position performs a variety of clerical pharmacy tasks, which includes telephone contact with Veterinarian offices, customers and partners within the Customer Service Center. Additional responsibilities include entering prescription data into our pharmacy entry system to assure the efficient and accurate processing of prescription orders.


Essential Job Functions:

The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Answers calls through the UCCX system managing a call volume and answer speed consistent with established goals. 
  • Interact professionally and effectively with all areas of the pharmacy department and veterinary offices. This includes but is not limited to the ability to communicate in both verbal and written form to expedite the prescription order process. 
  • Interact professionally with customers via phone or e-mail contact. Interactions will address order concerns, missing or incorrect information, verifications and conveying veterinarian responses to prescription requests. 
  • omplex customer questions and resolve escalated concerns requiring research and follow up with the customer. 
  • The position requires the ability to multi-task as various tasks may at times need to be addressed simultaneously. Tasks may need to be modified occasionally in order to accomplish necessary goals.
  • The partner will be required to Processes direct entry of received prescription data with 99% accuracy and within departmental average in monitoring standards. 
  • Take verbal prescription authorizations from Veterinarian offices and forward calls to pharmacists as required by pharmacy law. 
  • Process state required pharmacy reports in an efficient and accurate manner. 
  • Demonstrates core company values to effectively interact with partners at various level.

Work Environment:


Job duties are performed in a typical environmentally controlled office environment with little or no exposure to external hazards.  Physical requirements include: Capable of lift and carry up to 25lbs. Capable of talking, listening, sitting and typing for the majority of the work day.

Education/Experience:


High School Diploma or GED equivalent desired

CPhT or previous pharmacy and customer service experience preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong Data/Order Entry Skills required

Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications

Ability to multi-task and problem solve more difficult customer questions and complaints
