Duties: Perform technical footwear engineering duties, incl. Pattern, Tooling, Manufacturing, Chemical & Cost Engineering. Provide Footwear technical design constraints & solutions, material choices & product construction input. Facilitate new technology, material & process development. Work with offshore Development, Manufacturing & Factory Teams to identify potential manufacturing & cost efficiencies & address manufacturing concerns. Lead cross-functional teams to troubleshoot & improve existing development, engineering & manufacturing processes. Mentor & train employees on product engineering processes & manufacturing procedures. Liaise between external manufacturing facilities & internal design/development teams on product quality issues & establish product construction techniques. Analyze & implement manufacturing processes, define engineering protocols & establish best practices. Develop new methods of testing & analyzing results to resolve engineering problems. Review Tech Packages & production samples to ensure quality & consistent manufacturability. Provide engineering expertise & training in engineering & manufacturing processes, incl. Product Creation & Manufacturing best practices, product integrity, sustainability & modernization. Ensure products meet consumer expectations from technical/engineering perspective & are consistent in materials, construction & production techniques across multiple manufacturing locations. Up to 20% travel, incl. international, required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Industrial Design or a related field (foreign equivalent accepted)

and

Experience: 5 years' post-bachelor's progressive experience as a Lead Product Engineer, Product Engineer II, Lead Tooling Engineer, Mold Manager, Mold Assistant Manager, or similar position.
Skills/Requirements:

3 years' experience with:

1. Athletic performance footwear engineering & manufacturing, incl. pattern-making, tooling design & chemical processes

2. Footwear development, incl. leading cross-functional teams to troubleshoot & improve existing development, engineering & manufacturing processes

3. Developing, analyzing technical performance & standardizing quality requirements of new athletic materials, manufacturing technologies & techniques

4. Working with U.S.-based teams & foreign manufacturing facilities to drive engineering recommendations for seasonal projects

5. Participating in development of manufacturing sourcing strategies, leading technical creation process to deliver against product & quality standards & making early technical recommendations on construction techniques & tooling solutions

6. Working with Costing, Development, Engineering & Manufacturing teams to identify & leverage potential manufacturing efficiencies to reduce cost

7. Implementing new manufacturing technologies from creation to mass production & overseeing execution & documentation of trial runs & functional policy requirements

8. Reading, interpreting & implementing (a) technical documentation, incl. 2-D & 3-D CAD drawings, & (b) manufacturing best practices

9. Mentoring & training employees on product engineering processes & manufacturing procedures
