Transportation Clerk, Sr

US Foods Inc. - Bismarck, ND

  • Provide administrative support to the Transportation Department by collecting data, data entry, filing DVIRs and submitting reports to the Transportation Management Staff as it relates to Driver Trip Data (driver miles and hours) and other analysis projects as assigned.
  • Efficiently maintain/file electronic and paper records for the Transportation Department as directed by the Transportation Management Staff using 

    Omnitracks

  • Answer incoming calls/emails to the Transportation department from drivers, customers, and sales support staff. Resolving issues, recording required information, and/or directing them to Transportation Supervision as needed.
  • Work with the Transportation Manager, Transportation Supervisors, and Routing Supervisor to maximize utilization of the delivery fleet for product pick-up and support the coordination of product recovery for customers
  • Cross train on the Personal Injury Reporting process and handle this reporting in the absence of Transportation
    Supervision.
  • Cross train on the Vehicle Accident Reporting process and handle this reporting in the absence of Transportation
    Supervision.
  • Cross train on the Driver Payroll process.
  • Other special reports/projects as requested.
  • Ability to run the Transportation Office smoothly in the absence of supervision.

Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

 

Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 year’s experience in an administrative supportive role required.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience required
  • Strong math skills and competencies required
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally and have strong customer service ability with all levels inside and outside the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work on complex tasks and prioritize workload amid competing priorities
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to be a resource to others in the department and the division

Preferred:
  • Omnitracks experience
  • Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Regulations
  • Knowledge of our geographic delivery area
  • 6 months experience working in transportation and/or logistics function in an administrative capacity
