Job Overview:

 

District Manager role focuses on supporting the growth of the Big Ticket business. This position works directly with the Region Director of Merchandising, Visual Managers, and Store Managers in a coordinating role to ensure a consistent and comprehensive approach to growing the Big Ticket business. The key focus of this position is to drive sales, merchandise, train and communicate all Macy’s and Central Big Ticket initiatives.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure all promotional signing, tagging is executed to match event. 
  • Ensure all markdowns/mark ups are properly executed. 
  • Partner with BT Director and Store managers on all merchandising issues within Big Ticket 
  • Develop and execute in store merchandise presentation standards 
  • Develop and manage space allocation and floor flow standards by location 
  • Develop floor plans using floor planning tools, X-grids, and density plans 
  • Ensure stores reflect overall category and FOB strategy 
  • People 
  • Review upcoming sales promotion calendar to ensure all Managers/associates are aware of event timing, pricing, discounts, added value promotions, and new product information. 
  • Review Price Variance Reporting with store managers and develop plan of action in retraining sales associates on use of proper sale pricing. 
  • Actively participates in and or supports training of gallery managers, VPSM, sales managers, and sales associates on PACT Coaching, Magic selling skills, product information, visual presentation, and signing standards 
  • Embrace and Drive the Macys M.O.M strategy 
  • Maintain Store accountability to all Selling Matrix, Sales, WNM, returns, email capture, delivery override, Mysa clienteling, contact after delivery, Magic score, credit and quarterly assessments 
  • Inform RDOS and DVP’s of Big Ticket priorities during Deep Dives

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in merchandising in buying office, planning, or stores.

Communication Skills

  • Effective written and verbal skills, ability to interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Able to use a calculator.

Reasoning Ability

  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time management skills.

Physical Demands

  • This position requires constant moving and standing. Must be able to stand for at least two consecutive hours. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs. May occasionally be required to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders. May have to reach above eye level. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Hours

  • Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours, which may include day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
