As a member of the Marketing Systems Web Analytics team, the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for working in a cross-functional capacity to provide business and functional requirements, technical direction, domain expertise, and feasibility analysis for Web Analytics projects.
Essential Functions:
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with vendors and internal customers to analyze information needed and functional requirements desired to deliver tag/pixel implementation. Act as liaison between the business units, engineering and reporting teams to ensure the right data is captured during the tag/pixel implementation
• Leverage javascript skills to configure tags and pixels on the site. Work with QA teams to validate configuration. Understand web development to ensure that all tagging and tracking are implemented correctly
• Elicit and document business systems requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirement reviews, use cases, scenario analysis, business analysis and workflow analysis. Documentation includes but is not limited to user stories, project plans, business requirements, business process flows, and test scenarios
• Provide web development teams with required project specifications tracking requirements, data layer specifications and testing scenarios
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Manage and keep track of all open issues and ensure issues are resolved in timely manner
• Provide technical expertise for Analytics systems, with concentration on Google Analytics, to drive towards consistency in delivery
• Experience working with third party technology vendors, agencies, and contractors
• 2 years of strong hands-on experience in UI technologies like HTML, Javascript, jQuery, JSON based data layer, etc
• Strong knowledge of implementing marketing pixels and tags
• Experience using tag managers like Google Tag Manager, Ensighten, Signal, Tealium, etc
• 2 years of working experience with Web Analytics products required – primarily Google Analytics (optional - Omniture, Coremetrics, etc)
• Experience with negotiating priorities, scope, and resource requirements in the delivery of large complex development projects in rapidly evolving business environment
Communication Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read, write and interpret business and technical documents
Reasoning Ability:
• Strong skills in successfully relaying business requirements into technical terms for colleagues in the application development department
Other Skills:
• Ability to maintain focus on a given plan for an extended period of time, while still providing a high level of attention to detail
• Must be comfortable operating with firm deadlines in place
Work Hours:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs
