What will you do?
The DIRECTV Mobile team consists of developers, systems engineers, and QA who are responsible for the DIRECTV apps that are available in the iOS App Store, on Google Play, the Windows App Store, and the Amazon Kindle App Store. The Senior Systems Engineer/Tech Lead will work within the DIRECTV Mobile team to lead the design and development of new software products and enhancements to existing software. The candidate will be acting as the technical expert in design and integration as well as take the lead in addressing security, system scaling, compatibility, operations, and multiple end clients/platforms.
Key duties and responsibilities:

Translate business requirements into design strategies and patterns

Coordinate system development tasks to include design, reviews, integration and formal testing

Lead evaluation of vendor software selection targeted for possible integration, including strategic applications, tools, and utilities

Identify opportunities for architectural improvements in current landscape

Create and maintain technical documentation and insure efficient planning and execution

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological advances
-
Oversee architectural transitions to production

Monitor health of systems in production to help identify issues

Troubleshoot, identify root causes and assign issues to correct teams
Skills and Qualification:
-
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with strong academic record required. Masters a plus

7 years relevant experience

Understanding of DRM architecture and implementation a plus

Experience in designing Enterprise Applications and high-level architectural designs
-
Proven track record of architecture and design of multi-tiered systems required

Ability to work well in a team/team environment and independently required

Effectively directs project to an efficient solution while meeting aggressive timelines required

Strong organization and multi-tasking abilities required

Strong leadership skills required

Solid written, verbal communication and presentation skills required
