Supervisor, 2nd Shift - Ozark Facility

Bell Helicopter - Ozark, Alabama

This position will be responsible for the supervision and leadership of 2nd shift, to include all shop floor production employees and support functions.

 

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise second shift employees by assigning and directing work, monitoring performance, training, and developing talent
  • Responsible for all Structures and Avionics employees on 2nd shift

  • Monitor work in progress to ensure employees use proper tools and equipment required for the work, and ensure adequate tools, equipment, and other resources are provided.
  • Conduct or assist in interviews, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and rewards & recognition.
  • Drive accountability in department by leading through example, and by ensuring full adherence to Bell, Textron, and Ozark-specific policies and procedures.
  • Ensure optimal execution of production schedules. As needed, partner with other departments to maximize workforce efficiency and monitor schedules.
  • Prepare reports for review of production work hours, station time and flow rates to management as required.
  • Reflect and promote Textron values and behaviors
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and develop and implement solutions
  • Act as second shift point of contact for safety, including for accident prevention and EHS Policies and Procedures. As required, partner with EHS to provide input on safety related items and/or to resolve concerns
    • Assist with and provide input during annual review of manuals, procedures, forms and records for accuracy and applicability
  • Other duties as assigned


 

Position requirements:

  • 5 Aviation Maintenance or equivalent combination of experience/ education
  • Ability to deal effectively with personnel, customers, and senior management
  • Prefer Understanding of DCMA and AS9100 regulations and their application to site operations Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Understanding of manufacturing and lean processes
  • Ability to produce quality driven results
  • Attention to detail and high motivation
  • Proven effective business communication skills
  • Proven interpersonal relationship/team building skills
  • Familiarity with customer expectations, policies, and business practices and drive to produce high customer satisfaction
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, instructions, and maintenance manuals

Educational requirement:

  • Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering; or equivalent experience

 

Preferred:

  • Prefer A&P will take just the A and would perfer Certificate and FCC (Federal Communication Commission)
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
