Key Responsibilities
The incumbent supervises activities of resin manufacturing operators on the weekend shift (10:30pm-11:00am) Friday/Saturday/Sunday. The resin plant manufactures products for industrial manufacturers with a wide range of product needs. The weekend shift supervisor is responsible for all operations and employees on the shift in the resin plant. He/she must ensure operations are conducted safely and efficiently to meet customer requirements for on-time delivery and product quality. The incumbent is provided a daily production schedule and must coordinate activities between work cells and support departments to ensure completion.
Occasional coverage on the weekday or to fill in for another supervisor will be necessary. Additional tasks include:
Execute daily production schedule provided by cell leaders
Source raw materials and intermediates to meet production schedules
Troubleshoot production issues
Schedule operator overtime, vacations, meetings, etc.
Conduct training for new employees and complete probationary evaluations
Develop employees and invest in their career development
Drive employee engagement
Coach/counsel and discipline when appropriate or necessary to deal with behavioral issues
Coordinate maintenance support when needed

Experience and Education:
4 years minimum experience as a production supervisor in a fast-paced environment is required, with strong preference given to candidates with chemical manufacturing experience. Must have a track record of building a successful team. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is desired but not required. All successful non-degreed candidates will be required to pass the Virtual Supervisory Assessment.
Functional and Technical Skills:
Must be able to focus on results, take responsibility, size up situations, promote a teamwork environment and communicate and share information. Experience interacting and communicating with all levels of the organization is necessary.
