The Finance Manager’s primary role is to provide financial guidance and strategic analysis to drive results and execution in The Home Depot channel. This position manages all financial activities for the channel including the monthly closing cycle, reporting, building weekly/monthly estimates and the development of the annual plan. This position also manages The Home Depot discount and trade allowance calculations, provides input and support for sales commissions and develops ACTs.
This position works closely with upper management including the Sales Director and Regional Sales Managers to understand market trends and performance geographically at product and brand levels.
In addition this position works with Marketing, Credit, Supply Chain and Accounting Services to help drive improvements in the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze, interpret and communicate monthly financial results including deviation analysis, explanation of performance drivers/opportunities and key metric reporting
Manage monthly closing process - coordinate activities to ensure results are accurate and explainable
Responsible for all reporting for The Home Depot as well as the calculations of key metrics
Preparation and presentation of monthly P&L estimates as well as volume estimates
Planning, preparation, and implementation of the annual budget process
Preparation of monthly journal entries in SAP
Works with business to develop ACTs as needed
Communicates with IT and Accounting to ensure new business situations are handled appropriately
Provides any ad hoc analysis as required by sales management at various levels. This includes detailed product profitability analysis, analysis of promotions, pricing recommendations and financial modeling of for product line reviews.
Experience and Education:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a business related field and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
