Job Description
The Global Project Manager, located in Springdale, PA or in Strongsville, OH is a critical member of the Industrial Coatings Project Management group. The Global Project Manager will report to the Manager, Global Project Management.
The incumbent serves as the Global Project Manager for any key business initiatives that can include, but is not limited to, integration activities, new product development projects, and other strategic projects or initiatives.
The Global Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects which will entail working with a cross-functional team, setting and monitoring timelines, identifying and minimizing risks, communicating and presenting progress reports to ensure that each initiative delivers all business objectives and benefits. He/she will use project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible to recognize the cultural implications of mixing skilled workers from many nations, along with the tactical steps required for teams to collaborate effectively. He/she will also ensure that a cross functional team with representation from all key areas and stakeholders is organized and represented on the project. The incumbent will also be responsible for interactions with key personnel including Segment, Sales, Technical, Product Management and Operations et al., as well as support groups to ensure collaborative understanding and for gaining the support needed for the success of the project. The Project Manager should use appropriate processes and systems to ensure good coordination and communication of projects.
He/she serves as owner of all projects (and others as assigned) and is the key link to the Management team. This involves assembling and presenting data to the Management team to ensure they are current on the projects’ status, costs and risks.
The incumbent is responsible for managing IC innovation projects from idea-to-launch utilizing Industrial Coatings Stage-Gate® process.
The incumbent will have extensive contact within Operations, Product Management, Commercial, Technical, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and business support teams and customers. This will require strong communication, prioritization, and coordination skills.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
-
Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in technical, project management, engineering or operations
Desired Qualifications

PMP/PMI Certification
-
Coatings industry experience

Strong project management skills, including defining, organizing, planning and executing projects from vision through implementation

Ability to lead and effectively participate in teams; strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to express complex technical concepts in audience appropriate terms

Ability to work without close supervision and remain focused on short and long-term objectives

Ability to manage competing priorities and strong analytical skills for identifying and solving problems

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complexity

Experience in the management of innovation projects thru the Stage-Gate® model.
