Position Summary:

OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a Real Estate Financial Analyst to join our Public Institutions (PI) group. This position will support the State and Local Government team, providing real estate development advisory services to state and local government entities as well as colleges and universities in the Mid-Atlantic region.

JLL’s PI group identifies and implements strategies that allow public sector organizations to fully leverage their real property in close alignment with their organizational missions. PI employs more than 100 professionals in locations throughout the U.S. and abroad, with a proven track record of success conducting work for more than 200 government and higher education clients.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Advise public sector clients on all aspects of large-scale public/private real estate projects, including, pre-development, development, construction, finance, legal document review and property management;
  • Gather, manipulate, and analyze economic, demographic, and real estate market data;
  • Develop, review, and update pro forma financials based on analysis of economic, demographic and real estate market data;
  • Prepare presentations, requests for qualifications/proposals, and financial reports for clients;
  • Review and analyze real property reports and information, legal documents, financial and due diligence reports, as well as operating plans as part of preliminary studies, due diligence process, and/or negotiations;
  • Execute accurate and well organized deliverables on schedule;
  • Handle a significant workload through assignment prioritization and time management;
  • Consistently, proactively, and effectively communicate project status to managers;
  • Handle multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and establish priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing team environment; and
  • Assist in management of client relationships, including communications, meeting management.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Public Policy, or related field, preferred
  • 2 - 3 years of previous work experience

  • Strong financial/analytical, strategic thinking, organization, time management, client relationship and project management skills;
  • Self-motivation;
  • Ability to show initiative in taking action and responding appropriately;
  • Excellent business/verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally in written communication;
  • Ability to meet deadlines, demonstrate flexibility and work in fast-paced team environment;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also be a team player;
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn.
