Position Summary:
As a principle developer, you will use Java, J2EE, Web Services, Java Script, and Database technologies such as DB2 or Oracle to enable valuable insights. You will be part of our Retail Business Integration engineering team supporting POS transaction management and related applications. Must have experience in all aspects of software engineering, and be a self-starter, strong contributor, and adapt to changing needs quickly. The position requires strong problem-solving mindset as much as it requires strong Java, API design and scalable & maintainable software development skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop applications that run on the Java and Database platforms.
- Create or modify highly complex programs, modules, routines, scripts and data objects from a detailed design where efficiency, performance and reliability affect our mission critical applications.
- Follow standard development processes and best practice.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Designs, develops and integrates APIs & Web Services.
- Perform issue resolution, bug fixes and enhancements during the QA cycle.
- Test, implement and maintain technical upgrades.
- Provide innovative solutions for process improvements and optimization.
- Comply with all IT security standards, policies and procedures
Basic:
- 3-5 years working experience in comparable company environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience in Java, J2EE, Java Script
- Experience in developing web services, fluent in XML, XSD and XSLT
- Knowledge of SQL
- Ability to adapt to new technical skills quickly
- Solid communication skills
- Experience with Java, J2EE, MDB design patterns, Java Script
- Experience with IBM WebSphere platform & related technologies
- Experience in agile development methodologies
- Experience with Object Oriented Design & Programming with good RDBMS knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Must exude a positive, can-do attitude
