Senior Reporting Developer

JOIN US AS A SENIOR REPORT DEVELOPER
Primary Function
Design, build, and optimize complex reporting solutions to effectively deliver information to the business. Develop best practices by which to optimize reporting and ensures adherence to established best practice.
Interfaces with the Target business representatives and leaders to validate business requirements/requests for reporting solutions.
• Clearly define business questions, asking probing questions and challenging where appropriate.
• Identify appropriate metrics and determine appropriate business requirements
• Translates client's business requirements for development, anticipating client's needs.
Determines best methods in order to gather data and present complex information. Consults and gives guidance to other analysts.
• Identify data sources
• Consult on visual representation of data
• Create mock-ups of reports and solicit feedback
• Develop detailed Timing & Action, estimating the development time.
• Develops delivery strategy for new reports through portals, SharePoint, etc.
• Coordinate with external projects regarding implications of design
Builds complex reporting solutions to meet business needs. Consults with other analysts, as well as other external/technology partners.
• Gather required data to build reports
• Build applications and reports in accordance with requirements
• Facilitate iterative build process by frequently reviewing design and build with business partners.
• Oversee UAT and performance testing with the appropriate business and technical partners.
• Develop best methods for reporting solutions.
• Determines appropriate technical platform and solution design.
• Performance tune reports
• Provides prototyping services to business partners and consultation on technical solutions
Communicates with project/team manager to share knowledge and findings.
• Communication of progress, milestones, challenges against plan, and escalation of issues
• Partner with OE or clients to provide end user training on use of reports and ad hoc environment
Documents design and requirements for reporting solutions.
• Develops and consults on governance for reports.
• Consults with IT project teams on reports migrating to IT supported production solutions
Minimum requirements
- BA/BS required
- 5-7 year relevant experience (e.g reporting)
- Programming knowledge and querying ability SQL and/or SAS
- DOMO or other visualization tool
- Knowledge of Hadoop or ability to interface with multiple data sources
- Knowledge of statistical techniques

- Exposure to large data sets
- Quantitative related degree (math, econ, computer science, engineering)
