The Merchandising Team Lead Is responsible for the fulfillment process as well as achieving sales plan by ensuring proper product placement and flow of new receipts. Other operational duties include floor moves, replenishment, inventory; shortage control, stockroom organization, and merchandising. The associate is also responsible for fulfillment and performing other duties as necessary.
Essential Functions:
• Assist customers in all aspects of total store fulfillment and have the ability to satisfy the needs of our digital and physical customers by making appropriate partnerships when necessary.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the customer is always the priority
• Assist with, and supervise workload throughout the store in conjunction with Merchandising Team Manager
• Organize fulfillment workload when MTM is off, and focus on re-checks and hard to find items
• Process fulfillment orders to include, locating and picking merchandise for customer
• Ensure all picked merchandise is delivered to the send area for the receiving team to pack and ship
• Communicate with all MTMs, MSO, SSO, RTM, and VPSM to share fulf111ment results
• Perform these functions in an efficient manner, and flex between areas of the store and fulfillment functions, as directed by the Supervisor
• Motivate team to ensure that department goals of customer service, productivity, efficiency, and quality are being met and properly balanced
• Direct Merchandise Team In fulf111ment picking, and In the placement of merchandise on the sales floor to ensure floor readiness
• Direct Merchandise Team in the merchandising of new receipts to family of business zone-o-gram and visual merchandising presentation standards
• Educate, motivate, and develop team to ensure effective performance through consistent on-the-job training
• Ensure all procedures, policies, and standards are understood and followed by associates
• Oversee replenishment of stock onto the sales floor
• Assist Merchandise Team Manager in the movement of fixtures and merchandise for new product, season changes, and clearance sets
• Review the flow of merchandise on a daily basis
• Assist in markdown and inventory process
• Maintain department recovery standards; including fitting room go backs to standard, if applicable
• Oversee processing of damages, transfers, return to vendor merchandise, and stockroom maintenance
• Maintain high customer readiness and standards by delivering a clean, neat, easy to shop store environment
• Attend to customer service needs in a friendly and helpful manner when approached
• Shift associates independently as workload demands
• Communicate with MTMs and MSO/SSO on any merchandise or system issues
• Assist other Merchandise Team Leads in performing all supervisor duties when the Merchandise Team Manager is out
• Be sensitive to the needs of the store and flex into other non-selling areas as needed
• Adhere to Asset Protection and inventory control and compliance procedures
• Ensure that shortage prevention initiatives are executed
• Perform other duties as necessary
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
• High School degree or equivalent;
• Minimum 1 year previous merchandising or Retail Operations Experience
• Exceptional Customer Service Skills.
Communication Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers and all levels of management.
Mathematical Skills:
• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Able to use a calculator.
Reasoning Ability:
• Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time management skills.
Physical Demands:
• This position requires heavy lifting and constant moving and standing;
• Must be able to stand for at least two consecutive hours;
• Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs;
• May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders;
• May have to reach above eye level.
Other Skills:
• Ability to train, coach, and develop a staff of associates.
• Ability to delegate and follow through on projects in a timely manner.
• Should be comfortable with the use of computers and frequent use of RF equipment.
Work Hours:
• Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours, which may include day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays, based on department and store/company needs.
