Account Manager
Reporting into the National Sales Manager for PPG AC’s Menards business, this position will manage all aspects of account sales for $100MM paint and stain business for our strategic retail customer.
This position will help develop, direct, implement and communicate an account strategy for Menards account, The position will assist with current and long term sales growth plans and financial management (P&L) of the account along with the day-to-day interaction with the customer (external and internal), category management, marketing, supply chain, field sales, and customer service. The position will be located in Minneapolis area or Western Wisconsin.
Primary Accountabilities:
Develop and maintain regular and effective relationships at all levels within the customer’s decision making organization. (including Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing)
Successfully champion business ideas, recommendations and points-of-view with the customer.
Actively participate in the formulation and implementation of business strategy.
Provide cross-functional leadership as it relates to business operations, goal attainment, special projects.
Manage profitability of the paint and stain category
Regularly analyze key performance and productivity metrics to understand the business, identify opportunities and/or address business challenges.
Steward and influence key business activities that influence sales such as advertising, promotion and inventory.
Oversee the execution of in-store activities.
Collect and process competitor data to grow the account effectively.
Requires:
Undergraduate 4-year business degree, MBA preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of account management/sales experience
Demonstrated project management skills
Demonstrated background in business analytics and computer skills
Solid understanding of Marketing (preferably retail/consumer)
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with external and internal customers
Retail experience, especially in home center channel is desirable, not required
