Position Description
The Cost Accountant II will be located at Industrial Coatings’ Oak Creek, WI plant and will be responsible for the overall management and operation of Oak Creek’s Cost System. The Oak Creek plant serves the Industrial, Automotive, and Packaging SBUs, producing over 9MM gallons of paint annually. This position reports to the Cost Accounting Manager who supports multiple Industrial manufacturing locations.
To be successful in this role, the Cost Accountant II will be involved in the following:
Perform monthly closing procedures and account reconciliation.
Help facilitate and perform annual re-costing and analyze results.
Support the business with accurate and timely forecasting.
Perform analysis of Purchase Price Variances and Unrealized Increments.
Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis on an ongoing basis.
Devise and implement plant manufacturing budget in accordance with budget requirements.
Provide current capital spending analysis and projections.
Assist with SOX audit compliance and other issues raised by internal and external audit.
Support the integration of new acquisitions and IT platform upgrades.
Support the Regional Finance Manager and maintain effective working relationships with Operations personnel.
Resolve issues with AP invoices.
Responsible for inventory and SSPL.

Minimum Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
Minimum 2 years of experience in generally accepted accounting principles (including internal controls) and cost accounting
Preferred
Coatings plant experience
Skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong PC skills with database (Access) and spreadsheet (Excel) applications
Working knowledge of Oracle and Tandem systems
Strong leadership and communication skills are also essential
