Position DescriptionLocated in Grand Haven, MI, the Finance Manager provides financial guidance and strategic analysis to drive change and execution within the Industrial Coatings SBU.  The position manages all plant specific accounting activities for the recently acquired IVC facilities in the US (Grand Haven, MI; Brazil, IN; Lawrenceville, GA; and Casa Grande, AZ) including monthly closing cycles, reporting and analysis of results, explanation of key performance drivers to management, routine estimates, working capital reporting, development of the annual plan, and internal controls cycles.
 
Additionally, the Finance Manager will provide regional strategic business analysis support for the General Industrial and Metal Office Furniture business segments, providing assessments on market demand, customer sales and profitability, cost management across direct and indirect areas, market intelligence, and coordination with pricing activities.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all reporting for US IVC facilities as well as the calculations of key metrics
  • Analyze, interpret and communicate monthly financial results including deviation analysis, explanation of performance drivers/opportunities and key metric reporting
  • Manage monthly closing process - coordinate activities to ensure results are accurate and explainable
  • Work closely with upper management including the MOF Operations Director to understand market trends and performance
  • Prepare and present monthly P&L estimates
  • Lead the annual budget and re-cost activities for all locations
  • Lead the quarterly plant physical inventories
  • Assist with continued acquisition integration 
  • Oversee the ACT process
  • Develop process improvement and standardization activities in order better streamline work flow
  • Partner with Operations  to drive cost savings initiatives
  • Manage a team of four

Minimum Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 years of general accounting, cost accounting and business analysis experience. 
Preferred
  • Advanced Degree
  • Prior supervisory experience in Coatings preferred
  • Prior experience in plant accounting preferred
Skills
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and provide detailed information to management in a summarized and manner.
  • Must have strong leadership skills and ability to analyze and interpret financial data and determine appropriate course of action.
  • Must work independently with little supervision while keeping current on accounting practices and principles.
  • Ability to working cross functionally and communicate with all levels of the business.
