General Summary

 

Provides preventative maintenance, diagnostics, service and repair of truck fleet, trailers, reefers and yard hostlers. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs preventative maintenance according to schedule
• Diagnosis and repair of engine, drive lines and airbrakes
• Performs annual / periodic inspections
• Performs welding, fabrication and cutting
• Troubleshoots and repairs auxiliary electrical systems and components as needed
• Maintains frequent communications with dispatch office personnel providing updates on  equipment status  

Education and Knowledge Requirements:

• Experience in truck technology required
• Graduate of post-secondary automotive/truck technology program preferred
• CDL-A or CDL-B preferred by not required
• Ability to obtain ASE certification in heavy truck 
• Must have own tools
• Ability to work independently with a limited amount of supervision
• Ability to work with other technicians to coordinate and prioritize work

Physical Requirements / Environment:

• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to reach and grab tools and equipment
• Able to stand in one place for extended periods of time
