FSQA Supplier Program Manager

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

§  Ensure compliance of all assigned suppliers to US Foods requirements with regard to food safety, quality and regulatory compliance, approving/suspending/restricting/disqualifying as required. This requires teaming up with the category management team to hold suppliers accountable to US Foods expectations.

§  Drive new exclusive brands product development by assisting with defining product specifications, playing a key role in the product review process, ensuring product conformity to defined specifications and managing the internal and supplier approval process. These activities will have particular focus on supporting exclusive brand growth.

§  Provide food safety direction during product development and design of assigned categories.

§  Attend plant trials and/or first production, as appropriate, of new products to provide plant guidance on food safety and quality. 

§  Maintain product specifications for branded products to ensure consistent adherence to food safety and quality requirements.

§  Act as FSQA point of contact in supplier and customer relations through key activities, such as conducting timely investigations, addressing product complaints directly with the supplier, driving corrective action efforts in instances of non-conformance and managing US Food's response to third party requests.

§  Analyze complaint and product evaluation data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement with products and vendors.

§  Compile and issue quarterly FSQA scorecard to assigned vendors.

§  Partners with Product Development and Manager to become food safety and quality subject matter expert in order to provide direction for internal cross-functional teams.

Education/Training:

§  B.S. in food science or commensurate experience

§  HACCP and PCQI certified

§  Auditor certification strongly preferred

§  Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or quality

 

Related Experience

§  Demonstrated knowledge with FDA (FSMA) & USDA regulatory requirements and food safety systems.

§  2-3 years food industry background/experience with food safety/quality knowledge required

§  Experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferred


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

§  Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize required

§  Deep understanding of environmental monitoring programs

§  Experience with FSMA, HACCP plan design, measurement, documentation & training required.

§  Strong interpersonal skills required, including the ability to relate and positively influence at all organizational level
