Sr. Software Architect, Strategy

The Systems Engineering and Architecture team is seeking a Sr. Systems Architect to work alongside our elite engineers to build a world-class video entertainment system.   


Successful candidates yearn to dig in to understand problems and then propose solutions. Above all, the role requires someone with the drive to learn new things and always go above and beyond what is required.


This opening is for a Sr. Systems Architect focused on architectural strategy with experience and understanding in video and broadband platforms.  This position serves as the intake on new technologies, companies and solution optimizations that can be analyzed and evaluated prior to introduction to the remainder of the architecture team and development organizations.  This position requires the ability to work on multiple complex projects and can quickly adjust to changing business priorities.   Individual must be a self-starter with effective oral and written communication skills.


The position will be located in El Segundo, CA as part of the AT&T Entertainment Group.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in software development or software architecture
  • Understanding of software architecture including development models such as Agile, Scrum and Waterfall
  • Strong understanding of the Video and Broadband domains including Video streaming, head end systems, cloud deployments, and Broadband access networks
  • General understanding of Mobility networks and their evolution
  • Ability to quickly understand new technologies and how they can apply to either our current product suite or future roadmap
  • Ability to derive the financial implications of different strategies including basic business case analysis
  • Job responsibilities include development of target architectures, interfacing with development and operations organizations, creating recommendations on deployment strategies, and helping troubleshoot/diagnose development and production issues.
  • Assure a high standard of quality in your own work and in the work of others on your team
  • Ability to architect stable, efficient, and scalable software upon which world-class user interfaces can be built

Education 

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
