Furnishings & Equipment Engineer
Furnishings & Equipment (F&E) Engineer opportunities are available at Bell Helicopter on the V-280 Future Vertical Lift Program. This position may be located at Bell Helicopter’s headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX or the Bell Flight Research Center in Arlington, TX.
The F&E Engineer is responsible for:
- Developing system requirements for F&E systems for the baseline aircraft as well as kit and customization options. F&E systems include seats, interiors, cargo hook, hoist, and miscellaneous equipment.
- Conducting design and analysis of the F&E systems and integrating these components into the aircraft with interfacing systems
- Managing supplier development and qualification efforts
- System design, requirements management, systems specifications, interface management, system safety assessment, verification and validation testing, aircraft functional and flight test, and aircraft/system qualification and certification
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field) is required.
- Master of Science Degree is preferred.
Position Requirements:
• Experience at all levels will be considered with a minimum of 2 years specific experience with mechanical control systems integration, development, and testing. At least 5 years experience is preferred.
• Experience with F&E development and testing
• Experience with computational design computer software is required. Experience with CATIA V5/V6 is preferred.
• Familiarity with model based systems engineering
• Experience with creation of system specifications, requirements traceability, and verification. Experience with Enovia and DOORS is preferred.
• Generation of System Safety Assessments, Failure Hazard Analysis, and Certification and Test plans
• Experience with aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting
• Candidates must be eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance
