Key Responsibilities
 

The Customer Service Specialist is exposed to all facets of the customer service function from the basics of order entry to resolution of problems through development of a working knowledge of the business unit policies, systems, procedures and objectives.  Principal accountabilities include:

  1. Responsible for the timely and accurate input of customer orders sourcing to multiple fulfillment centers, including late order tracking.
  2. Work on various activities such as review and update of daily priority list, customer and product file maintenance.
  3. Work with Sales and Technical Service Representatives to ensure customer requests and orders are expedited in a timely manner.
  4. Work with Planning, Scheduling, Production and Shipping to ensure on-time shipments of all assigned accounts as well as managing inventory in a cost effective manner.
  5. Develop a proactive stance in dealing with all customer service related problems and work with supervisor to help resolve issues and implement corrective action plans where needed.
  6. Accuracy is critical.
 
Experience and Education
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a customer service function is required (retail or call center experience is not applicable)
  • Must pass customer service on-line assessment.
  • The candidate must possess strong oral communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills which are essential in helping to build relationships with various levels of the business as well as with external customer accounts.
  • Pervious experience working in a high volume, fast paced, complex customer service environment processing hundreds of emails per day, as well as experience managing customer phone calls, working with field sales and technical service teams and coordinating activities with supply chain, manufacturing, shipping, and finance to resolve customer issues. 
  • Proficient personal computer literacy is required.
  • Candidates must have excellent organizational, administrative, follow up and analytical abilities. 
  • Experience entering a high volume of order data daily with low error rate is required. 
  • Must be able to work independently without close supervision in a team environment.
  • Must be able to display enthusiastic, customer-focused, professional quality with solid retention skills.  
  • Excellent attendance is a must.
