Job Description
 

The production material expeditor position exists to support production and operations with current and existing needs resulting from expansion, and the implementation of Oracle. The expeditors will be responsible for newly created functions within Oracle. These functions include monitoring transactions for inventory accuracy, ensuring transactions are completed, and providing overall support to run the Oracle system.

The expeditors will be working closely with Production Planner/Scheduler, Pre-Assembly and Production Supervisors. The Production Material Expeditor’s primary role is reviewing production schedules and related information to determine material requirements and on time delivery to the final production work cells. Scope includes all raw materials, both in stock and in kanbans, as well as finished goods containers. The incumbent is also responsible for proactively identifying potential material shortages prior to batches being released to production and taking action with the supply chain team to correct the deficiency. They identify and take action with related information with any overdue materials and material tracking. The Production Material Control Expeditor position is located on the shop floor and performs the following duties:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviews the daily production schedule reports for the next 48 hours and tracks material pulled per production order, operation sequence, track delivery date to the production floor, notify Supply Chain of any material shortages, and track material completion status. 30%
  • Monitors receipt of materials to the production cell prior to scheduled order sequence operation start date. 5%
  • Notify the Production Planner/Scheduler and Customer Service if a developed contingency plan for late deliveries is required. 5%
  • Interfaces with necessary departments to assure job completion or for the production planner to review for contingency plan. 10%
  • Monitors schedule changes. 10%
  • Issue batch tickets to the production cells based on planned order schedules. 10%
  • Attend daily production meetings and reports daily schedule status. 15%
  • Follow-up daily or multiple times a day on progress for urgent products (inserts and expedites) 10%
  • Performs any other related material expeditor duties including building to building transportation and delivering to production work centers. 5%
 
  • Must have a HS Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience, chemical industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to operate and execute effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and challenging deadlines. 
  • Prior knowledge of warehouse inventory tracking systems is desirable.
