Key Responsibilities
 

The basic function of this position is to help coordinate the liquid manufacturing process, including scheduling batches for maximum weekly output, production reporting, supervising all production activities, coordinating and assisting on repairs during down time to reduce downtime as needed.  This function is to be done according to current management policies and established operating parameters and procedures, in order to meet plant goals regarding safety, quality, production, costs, productivity, housekeeping, and employee relations.

The primary responsibility of the Production Supervisor is to meet the daily operational needs of the Brazil IN liquid facility with a focus on meeting customer deadlines, eliminating down time, increasing production efficiency, improving process flow, handling customer issues and maintaining a high safety and environmental standards.  The incumbent must interface well with all organizational levels including customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Safety, Health & Environment - Provide a safe and healthy work environment to minimize injuries and health concerns to employees while ensuring adherence to environmental standards and policies.
  2. Quality – Maintain and encourage a strong quality process in the Production department which emphasizes the need for every employee to achieve conformance to defined requirements 100% of the time.  This includes compliance to established procedures and specifications.
  3. Production – Coordinating daily operations to include providing technical expertise to operations to assure safe and efficient daily operation.  This includes being readily available during off-shifts to provide support, oversight and direction to operators when issues arise.
  4. Training - Provides training to operators on unplanned downtime in an effort to reduce down time.
  5. Staff – Closely supervise all production technician and supporting staff to ensure a smooth running and efficient operation that meets the plant and department objectives and goals.
  6. Experience and Education
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • The incumbent must have, or be able to absorb and retain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the liquid manufacturing process.
  • A four- year degree in business or related discipline is strongly preferred. 
  • Seven or more years of previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment may be substituted for this requirement.
