Main Activities/Duties/Responsibilities

Plan and execute technical projects focused on short and long term sustainability of our color platforms, from both a commercial standpoint as well as offering manufacturing support to PPG Refinish facilities globally.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Technically assist to investigate product history to determine likely root cause(s) for performance concerns (i.e. approval-out-of-specification, reprocessing, formula-related manufacturing difficulties, inconsistent testing, etc.).
  • Actively participate as a contributing member of the technical team to delivering the most robust and color capable toner platforms that meet both the specifications and expectations of our customers.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous product improvements (i.e. consistency of manufacturing and appropriate application of test methods/specifications/standards).
  • Communicate and work effectively in a team environment seeking and utilizing expertise/experience within and outside the Technical Color Platform Team where necessary (Ex: Technical Manufacturing Coordinator, QA Associates, Development Chemists, Marketing).
  • Interact with the local OEM team to ensure alignment on pigment and color styling strategies between SBU’s.
  • Ensure high professional standards in the group including safe work practices and personal development.
  • Occasional travel may be required (10% or less).
 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or biochemistry.
  • Minimum 2 year lab experience either professionally or academically
  • Experience in a cross-functional work environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Statistical analysis and data interpretation experience, preferred.
